Modular classroom, Whitehaven

The project involved the relocation and refurbishment of a modular nursery facility within a primary school setting. This included the dismantling, transport, and reinstallation of modular units, followed by a full internal and external refurbishment to meet current educational and regulatory standards. The scope encompassed upgrades to internal finishes, accessibility provisions, and integration with existing school infrastructure.

Our role was to lead all aspects of coordination, planning, and statutory compliance, including liaison with local planning authorities and oversight of Building Control submissions. We managed contractor engagement and site logistics, ensuring that the works were delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with stakeholder expectations.

The project required strict adherence to the Building Regulations 2010, including Part A (Structural Safety), Part B (Fire Safety, with reference to BS EN 13501-2 for fire resistance), Part F (Ventilation), Part L2 (Energy Efficiency for non-dwellings), and Part M (Accessibility and DDA compliance).
