Post Office Retail Unit Conversion, Botcherby

The project involved the extension and separation of a retail unit from its adjoining residential accommodation, enabling independent operation and supporting future diversification of use. Key works included the creation of a new external stair for separate access, resolution of party wall matters, and management of shared services on a congested site with limited accessibility.

Despite the complexity of the site and the presence of a live post office and retail operation, the project was fully managed to ensure continuity of service. Works were carefully phased to minimise disruption, with particular attention given to the coordination of utilities and drainage, including the integration of a combined sewer system.

Our role encompassed full project management, overseeing design development, contractor coordination, and stakeholder engagement. We ensured that all interventions were delivered in line with program, budget, and regulatory requirements, while maintaining operational safety and functionality throughout.

This conversion formed part of a broader strategy to enhance the commercial viability of the site and unlock future development opportunities.
